Moe Koffman was a renowned Canadian jazz musician, whose career flourished from the 1950s until his passing in 2001. As a skilled saxophonist and flautist, he made significant contributions to the jazz scene, working extensively in various clubs and recording sessions. His prolific output resulted in the release of 30 albums, cementing his position as one of Canada's most accomplished musicians.

Koffman's achievements include being one of the first Canadian jazz musicians to record a full-length album, with his 1957 release Cool and Hot Sax on the Jubilee label. He was also a long-standing member of Rob McConnell's esteemed ensemble, the Boss Brass. Throughout his career, Koffman demonstrated his versatility as a composer and arranger, earning him recognition and accolades, including being appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. His legacy continues to be celebrated as a prominent figure in Canadian jazz.
