actrice indienne

Ruby Myers, known professionally as Sulochana, was a prominent Indian film actress who spanned the silent era and the advent of Hindi cinema. Born in 1907, she rose to fame and became one of the highest-paid actresses of her time, often starring alongside Dinshaw Billimoria in films produced by Imperial Studios. Her on-screen partnership with Billimoria was particularly notable, and she leveraged her success to explore other aspects of the film industry.

In the mid-1930s, Myers took a significant step by establishing her own film production house, Rubi Pics. This venture marked a new chapter in her career, as she transitioned from acting to producing. Her contributions to Indian cinema were recognized with the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1973, which honors lifetime achievement in the field. Myers passed away in 1983, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneering figure in Indian film.
