Sylvia Rothschild

British Reform rabbi (born 1957)

Sylvia Rothschild is a British Reform rabbi, born in 1957. Her career in the field of Judaism has been marked by several notable positions, including her role as Rabbi of Bromley Reform Synagogue, which she held from 1987 to 2002. This position laid the foundation for her future endeavors in the Reform Jewish community.

Rothschild's subsequent appointment as Rabbi of Wimbledon and District Synagogue, alongside Rabbi Sybil Sheridan, was a historic milestone, as it constituted the first ever rabbinic job share in England, lasting from 2003 to 2014. Following this, she went on to become the Rabbi at Lev Chadash in Milan, where she currently serves. Throughout her career, Rothschild has demonstrated a commitment to her faith and community, making significant contributions to the Reform Jewish movement in the UK and beyond.
