Elisabeth Leonskaja is a renowned Austrian pianist, born in 1945. Her early life and training took place in Tbilisi, where she laid the foundation for her future success. A significant milestone in her career was winning the Enesco Competition in Bucharest in 1964, which opened doors to international recognition and opportunities. This achievement paved the way for her to pursue further studies at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory.

At the Moscow Conservatory, Leonskaja had the privilege of meeting and performing with the esteemed pianist Sviatoslav Richter, with whom she formed a close and lasting friendship. In 1978, she relocated to Vienna, where she has since resided. Leonskaja's repertoire encompasses a wide range of works, with a particular emphasis on the late sonatas of Beethoven and Schubert, in addition to the great piano concertos. Through her performances, she has established herself as a distinguished figure in the world of music.
