Elliot Tiber

artiste décorateur dans les années 1960

Elliot Tiber was a multifaceted American figure, active in various fields including art, education, and screenwriting. Born in 1935, he led a long and varied career, leaving his mark on different disciplines. As an artist, Tiber brought his unique perspective to the world of art, while his work as a professor allowed him to share his knowledge with others.

Tiber's most notable contribution, however, lies in his connection to the iconic Woodstock Festival of 1969. His memoir about the event provides valuable insights into the history of the festival, which was held in Bethel, New York. Notably, Tiber claimed to have played a crucial role in the relocation of the festival after the initial permit was withdrawn by a nearby town's zoning board. This significant event in music history was, in part, shaped by Tiber's actions, cementing his place in the annals of the festival's history. He passed away in 2016, at the age of 81.
