Lester Allen was a multifaceted American entertainer who began his career as a child acrobat with the renowned Barnum and Bailey Circus. He later transitioned into various performance genres, including minstrel shows, burlesque, and vaudeville, where he honed his skills as a dancer, singer, and comedian. His talents eventually led him to the Broadway stage, where he performed in prominent musical revues such as George White's Scandals and Ziegfeld Follies during the 1910s and early 1920s.

Allen's career progressed as he took on singing and comedic acting roles, starring in several Broadway musical comedies throughout the 1920s and early 1930s. He eventually made the transition to film, appearing in over 15 movies between 1941 and 1950. His life was tragically cut short in 1949 when he was fatally struck by a motor vehicle, bringing an end to his diverse and accomplished career in the entertainment industry. Despite his untimely death, Allen left behind a legacy of performances that showcased his versatility and talent as a dancer, singer, comedian, and actor.
