Mark Brunswick

Mark Brunswick was a 20th-century American composer who made notable contributions to the music field. His compositional endeavors included working on an opera based on Henrik Ibsen's The Master Builder, a project that spanned several years. Although the opera was still in progress at the time of his death, a concert performance of the first act was held at the City College of New York, showcasing his work as a developing composition.

Brunswick's life and career were cut short when he died suddenly in London in May 1971. At the time of his passing, he was accompanied by his wife, Natascha Artin Brunswick, and the couple was set to embark on an extended tour of Europe. Brunswick had recently completed the second act of his opera, leaving behind a body of work that reflected his dedication to his craft. Despite his untimely death, his compositions, including his work on The Master Builder, remain a testament to his artistic vision and talent as a composer.
