Miriam Chaszczewacki

Holocaust victim

Miriam Chaszczewacki was a Jewish girl who lived during a tumultuous period in history. In 1939, she began documenting her life in a personal diary, which would ultimately serve as a testament to her experiences during a pivotal moment in time. The diary entries, which span from September 1939, provide a unique perspective on the events that unfolded during this period.

Miriam's life was tragically cut short in October 1942, when she fell victim to the Holocaust. The circumstances surrounding her death were part of a larger, devastating event in which the Jewish population of the Radomsko ghetto was forcibly deported to the Treblinka Extermination Camp between October 9 and October 12, 1942. It was there that Miriam, along with countless others, met her untimely demise, leaving behind only her diary as a record of her brief, yet significant, life.
