As a composer and choirmaster, he played a significant role in the musical traditions of the Gerrer Rebbes, serving in this capacity in both Ger, Poland, and Jerusalem, Israel. His work was deeply rooted in the Hasidic community, and he became particularly celebrated for his innovative and prolific compositions.
Talmud's musical output was remarkable, with over 1,500 melodies to his credit, despite having no formal musical training and being unable to read music. His compositions spanned a range of styles, including marches, waltzes, and dance tunes, which he created for use in prayer services.
