Richie Beirach

Richie Beirach was a renowned American jazz pianist and composer who left an indelible mark on the music world. Born in 1947, Beirach's prolific career spanned multiple decades, during which he made numerous recordings that showcased his exceptional talent. His early work with ECM, a prominent record label, resulted in notable albums such as Eon, Leaving, and Hubris, which highlighted his unique style and artistic vision.

Throughout his career, Beirach collaborated with various musicians, including saxophone player David Liebman, with whom he formed a duo and released albums like Forgotten Fantasies. In addition to his performance and recording work, Beirach was also dedicated to education, teaching jazz piano at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig from 2001 to 2014. He passed away in 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hundreds of recordings and a lasting impact on the jazz community.
