Ronnie Singer

Ronnie Singer was a notable American jazz guitarist hailing from Chicago. His musical talent had a significant impact on his peers, with some of his contemporaries holding him in high regard. Notably, Jimmy Gourley, who had the opportunity to play alongside both Singer and Jimmy Raney in Chicago, considered Singer to be on par with the esteemed Raney.

Despite his promising musical career, Singer's life was cut short due to personal struggles. He grappled with a severe heroin addiction, which ultimately took a devastating toll. In a tragic turn of events, Singer and his wife chose to end their lives together in a New York City hotel room when he was just 25 years old. This untimely demise prematurely halted the career of a talented guitarist who had already begun to make a mark on the jazz scene.
