Young Moshe's Diary

auteur juif néerlandais de journal intime, victime de la Shoah

Moshe Ze'ev Flinker was a Jewish youth born on October 9, 1926, in The Hague to Eliezer Noah Flinker, a Polish migrant who had established himself as a wealthy businessman in the Netherlands. As the Nazi regime expanded its reach, the Flinker family relocated to Brussels, Belgium, following the 1940 Battle of the Netherlands, in an attempt to evade the Gestapo's persecution of Jews.

Moshe's life was tragically cut short during World War 2. In 1944, he and his parents were arrested and deported to Auschwitz, marking the beginning of a horrific journey through concentration camps. Moshe and his father were eventually transferred to KZ Echterdingen and then to Bergen-Belsen, where they ultimately met their demise in January 1945. Through his diary, which has been preserved as "Young Moshe's Diary", Moshe's experiences and thoughts during this tumultuous period have been immortalized, providing a poignant and powerful literary testament to his life amidst the atrocities of war.
